IAPP plans return to in-person conferences later this year

The IAPP President & CEO sent a message to members today about an in-person conference in 2021.

Optimism has been in short supply over this past year. That is why I am delighted to report the IAPP is moving forward with plans to host Europe’s most influential privacy conference in person – the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2021 in Brussels, Belgium this November.

We are also hopeful we can welcome you to three additional in-person conferences – the IAPP Data Protection Intensive: Deutschland 2021 in Munich, Germany this September, the IAPP Privacy. Security. Risk. 2021 in San Diego, California this October, and the IAPP ANZ Summit 2021 in Sydney, Australia this November.

Our staff is closely monitoring all meeting, travel and health protocols, but at this moment, Congress 2021 is proceeding on schedule. We hope you will take a moment now to make room for these events on your schedule and in your budget.

On our end, we will make certain to have ample room and space at the events for appropriate social distancing measures. We may need to limit in-person attendance and require attendees wear masks. We ask for your patience, cooperation and understanding with events that may look and feel a bit different from the past.

One thing that will never change though, regardless of whether the event is held in person, virtually or as a hybrid of both, is our commitment to assembling the brightest minds, freshest content and most practical solutions in the privacy industry to help address the challenges you and your operation face.

The best way to stay updated about all upcoming IAPP events, including when registrations open, speaker announcements and special networking sessions, is to sign up to receive the IAPP Buzz Weekly newsletter. Do it now to ensure you do not miss one second of presentations that could be critical to your continued success.

I look forward to personally welcoming you back to IAPP events and reconnecting with you later this year.

Best Regards,

J. Trevor Hughes, CIPP
