A Unified Approach to ERM Requirements: NARA’s Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative

There are thousands of ways organizations need to adapt to a 21st century business framework. The goal of NARA’s Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative (FERMI) is to help federal agencies procure the solutions to meet these challenges.

If your institution is seeking to procure services and solutions for managing records, come hear how NARA created the Universal ERM Requirements for electronic records. Organizations can use the Universal ERM requirements as a starting point when developing contracts for ERM tools or services. Information managers can share these requirements with their procurement and IT departments to build specific requirements for systems. By using work that has already been completed, organizations can ensure vendors demonstrate the required functionality.

The presenters will explain how organizations can use these tools when evaluating how service providers demonstrate required functionality. This allows organizations to compare different approaches vendors take to manage electronic records.
